Educators understand and apply knowledge of student growth and development.

I really had to work at slowing down during the Education 490 practicum. My lesson plans were all laid out and every time I taught something unexpected would happen, I mean EVERY time. I learned that it is good to have a lesson plan that leaves room for these unexpected events while still having plans for if there is extra time at the end. Leaving time for the the students to finish work during class time is also something that I learned during my practicum. It makes the students lives and the teacher’s life easier when there is less homework/ less excuses for not having work completed, when ample time was given in class.
